God’s Creation and His Word Proclaim His Glory!
God’s creation and His word proclaim His glory! When I think about this my mind and heart are encouraged. Still, my heart was challenged this month and I put it in my journal: a spiritual lesson. One of the books I am currently reading is ‘Worship Matters’ by Bob Kauflin. On page 22, I read,
“Idol worship is a daily ritual in America.”
This statement makes me ask myself, ‘What/Who did I worship today?’ When I start my day, that is pretty easy to answer. As I wake up, I think of Psalm 118:24:
“This is the day the LORD has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it.”
It’s the end of the day and think through the times I lost focus and worshiped things of this world. I don’t want to be like the people of 2 Kings 17:33:
“They feared the Lord, but they also worshiped their own gods”.
I would rather be like the Psalmist:
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands. Day after day they pour out speech; night after night they communicate knowledge. The instruction of the Lord is perfect, renewing one’s life; the testimony of the Lord is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise. The precepts of the Lord are right, making the heart glad; the command of the Lord is radiant, making the eyes light up.”
Psalms 19:1-2, 7-8 HCSB
May God be the focus of our worship every day, all day, everywhere.
